The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) of Paraguay has announced that the construction of the Bioceánica bridge has begun.
The 1,300 meter-long Bioceánica bridge will connect cities of Carmelo Peralta (Paraguay) and Puerto Murtinho (Brazil). It is divided into three sections, two of which constitute the access viaducts on both banks of the Paraguay River, plus the 630-meter cable-stayed one that will be in the middle.
The Binational Consortium PY – BRA, formed by the companies Tecnoedil Constructora SA, Cidade LTDA and Paulitec Construções, will be in charge of building the bridge. The estimated value of the contract is PGY616.83 billion (US$87.46 million). The execution of this project will generate nearly 1,000 jobs in its different stages.
