The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) in Paraguay has announced the beginning of construction works for a 15 km section connecting the towns of Abaí and Gral. Morínigo in Caazapá, Paraguay. The project is part of the Caazapá and Guairá local roads concession and is being funded by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF).
The works are being carried out by concessionaire Construcciones Edivi SA for the PYG25.19 billion (US$3.52 million) contract. The project scope includes construction of embankments, removal of works of art, transfer of wire fences, electrical columns and water pipes, hydraulic macadam sub-base, stabilized granular base, asphalt primer, league irrigation, simple surface treatment on the shoulder, asphalt concrete layer, granular fill, concrete-coated gutter, signs, metal containment railings, reflective studs, mileage posts and plant protection of slopes.
