The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced the start of the construction phase of the Mulaló – Loboguerrero highway in Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
The legal dispute that commenced in 2021, following Covimar's claim against the National Infrastructure Agency regarding the early termination of the contract due to perceived delays in obtaining the environmental license from the National Authority for Environmental Licenses (ANLA), has reached its final stage. The arbitration tribunal has ruled in favour of the ANI, allowing the contract to proceed. The tribunal acknowledged that the environmental license was granted by the ANLA in August 2021, fulfilling all contractual requirements for commencing the construction phase.
The construction of the highway involves significant engineering and infrastructure works, including road expansion, bridge construction, and other necessary infrastructure installations. The project's objective is to create a modern and efficient road network that reduces travel time and facilitates the movement of goods, services, and people.
