Norway’s state-owned airport operator Avinor has started the construction work for a new Arctic International Airport in Bodø, Norway.
In addition, Avinor plans a new business district to cement Bodø’s role as an aviation city and hub for connecting north and south Norway. The site preparation process gets underway with the developer's groundbreaking ceremony. Over 3.5 million cubic meters of dirt and bedrock will need to be excavated for this.
It is expected to handle up to 2.3 million passengers annually. Full construction work is scheduled to begin in 2024.
