The Ministry of Public Works has started the construction of the new High Complexity Hospital of Coquimbo in Chile.
The initiative is anticipated to positively impact over 983,000 inhabitants from Coquimbo, Andacollo, Illapel, Salamanca, Canela, and Los Vilos by the year 2030. The forthcoming Coquimbo Hospital is designed to accommodate 605 hospital beds across 22 pavilions. It will serve as a central hub and the foremost regional facility specializing in neurosurgery, highly complex traumatology, dermatology, pediatric critical care, and other medical fields. This undertaking represents a facility that is four times larger than the existing hospital.
