Agency National infrastructure (ANI) has announced the beginning of work for the New Malla Vial del Valle del Cauca road public-private partnership (PPP) project in Colombia.

Preliminary work includes a census of property, an inventory of the surrounding area and a topographic survey and costs required for the continuation of earthworks, landscaping, installation of granules, vertical and horizontal signaling, civil works and expansion of sewer networks. The project involves the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of a 310 km long road located in the departments of Valle del Cauca and Cauca. The corridor includes the construction of 16.5 km of a two-lane road and the construction of 11.52 km of a new second carriageway, as well as the completion of 291.43 km of existing corridors.

The project will benefit approximately 3,300,000 residents of the 12 municipalities of Valle del Cauca and will create 40,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs.
