Turner Construction has begun work on a 13 ac resort on a 549-room Great Wolf Lodge resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut, USA.
The project involves a 91,000-sq ft indoor waterpark, a 61,000-sq ft family entertainment center, 7,500 square feet of flexible conference space and family-friendly suites with multiple bedrooms. Environmentally friendly features will be incorporated into the resort construction such as special water filters and energy-saving LED lighting.
The estimated cost of the project is US$300 million. It is expected to hire 400 trade workers at the peak of construction and create more than 500 full and part-time jobs once open. The indoor water park resort is expected to open in 2025.
