The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that the construction of the asphalt paving of the section that connects the town of Villa Ygatimí with the Ko'ê Porã neighborhood is gaining momentum with overall progress of 11% in the department of Canindeyú, Paraguay.
The section is a 21-km roadway linking Villa Ygatimí to the Ko'ê Porã neighborhood, establishing a connection between Villa Ygatimí and General Resquín. The route traverses through Itanará and San Vicente, ultimately connecting to route PY08, providing access to the ports of Antequera or Villa del Rosario. The upcoming road is designed to be 6.4 m wide, with 1.5-meter shoulders on both sides. The structural components include a subbase layer of cement soil, a stabilized granular base, asphalt primer, adhesive irrigation, a simple surface treatment on the shoulder, and the road's crowning, which will feature the anticipated layer of asphalt concrete.
Wheel Co SA is carrying out the construction under a contract valued at PYG 47 billion (US$ 6 million) with supervision provided by the firm Inconpar SA. The project's anticipated investment is USD 62 million, sourced from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
