Paraguay's Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced the construction progress of the Bioceanic corridor bridge project.

The progress work includes:

  • head and pile installation activities on both banks of the Paraguay River (PY and BR);
  • dynamic load tests on each of the installed piles to determine the correct resistance of the structural base;
  • installation of 300 piles of reinforced concrete cylinders having variable depths between 33 and 43 m;
  • Headers are substantial volumetric and stiff reinforced concrete structural elements that connect the piles that carry loads from the superstructure to the subsoil; and
  • construction of the 2 m piles that will act as a base for the cable-stay tower's infrastructure.

The Bioceanica bridge is fully financed by the Paraguayan side of Itaipu Binacional.
