The Minister of Public Works of Chile has reported that the construction work on the new Salvador Hospital and the National Geriatrics Institute in the Providencia district has 38% progress.
The hospital will provide 641 beds, 24 pavilions, 2 angiography rooms, as well as 375 consultation and procedure rooms, among others. It will be the only geriatric hospital in Chile and will deliver specialized care in the ophthalmology unit and transplant unit. The project has generated 1,524 workers, and at its peak, it will reach up to 2,400 direct jobs.
Once operational in 2024, the new hospital will benefit a population of more than 500,000 people.
