The Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP) has announced that the machines are working on a four-lane widening of the Santo Domingo to Quevedo (Los Rios) highway as part of the Santo Domingo to Buena Fe US$559 million highway public-private partnership (PPP) project in Ecuador.
Work was carried out on the fourth kilometer in the sector in Puerto Limon, where the equipment was laying stone material on the side of the road, then work continued near the Cóngoma toll road. The execution of works on these roads is the axis of the country's development and a priority on the MTOP agenda. More than 500,000 people will pass the road from Santo Domingo and Los Rios.
The project with an intervention of 15% involves the development of a 113 kilometers long highway connecting Santo Domingo to Buena Fe. The scope of work also includes the development of additional lanes in the Fumisa sector, patching, signaling, clearing of vegetation, cleaning as well as provision of road safety and complementary services such as tow trucks, ambulances, and mechanical assistance.
