The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) of Paraguay has announced that progress for the Avenida Costanera Sur de Asunción road public-private partnership (PPP) project reaches 66%.
The work of the project includes the installation of a drainage system to ensure patency and prevent flooding of the section at the 10th turn in the direction of the Ita-Enramada area. Backfilling is also being carried out at the 7th line, soil moving and installation of the structural package at the 13th line and asphalting at the 9th line. Already 1 km of an asphalt concrete layer 14 m wide and an asphalt concrete base of 1.2 km have already been recorded. So far, stages 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4, stage 5, stage 6 and 12 have already been achieved in terms of fill backfill.
The project is being handled by the Southern Consortium, which consists of the Spanish company Eurofinsa SA and the Paraguayan company Ingeniería de Topografía y Caminos SA (T&C).
