The Ministery of Public Works of Chile has reported that the construction of the Americo Vespucio Oriente I highway is completed by 80%.

The project with an investment of more than US$900 million has a total length of 9.1 km, consisting of roads with three lanes in each direction. Once operation, it will connect Huechuraba, Recoleta, Vitacura, Las Condes and La Reina. Together with the Américo Vespucio Oriente II project, the road will allow the closure of the Américo Vespucio ring with a highway standard.

The project is expected to be operational in the first half of 2022 and will reduce the travel time between El Salto and Principe Gales from 40 to 10 minutes.
