Lekki deep seaport in Nigeria is expected to begin operations by the first quarter of 2023. The construction works for the project are progressing rapidly. As of the first quarter of 2021, the project has completed 48% of the total works.
The port is being built on 90ha of the 830ha Lagos Free Zone. Once operational, it will be capable to handle ultra-large ships and transport more than 14,500 containers.
