The Government of Saskatchewan has announced the opening of the completed Regina public-private partnership (PPP) Wastewater Treatment Plant Project in Canada.
An additional US$6 million was saved as a result of the plant's contingency budget. The construction work was carried out by EPCOR under a 30-year contract. The plant upgrades are designed to improve the health of the Wascana Creek water system and the watershed, support the future growth of the city of Regina and meet the province's wastewater requirements effective January 1, 2017.
The project should satisfy the population of the city of Regina up to 260,000 people. Stantec acted as a technical advisor.
