Ferrovial and EBA broke ground for the construction of the new School of Medicine, Nursing and Physiotherapy for the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Bilbao, Spain.
Ferrovial in partnership with EBA, will undertake the construction of a 9-story building spanning more than 44,500 sq m. This facility will host undergraduate programs in Medicine, Nursing, and Physiotherapy, along with 7 master’s degrees in Health Sciences. Valued at over EUR51 million (US$55.6 million), the contract also encompasses the enhancement of the neighboring environment. This involves sidewalk replacements, enhanced access points, the establishment of an interior plaza, and the creation of a new street. This street will serve as a pedestrian walkway, linking the university with Basurto Hospital. The new building is scheduled to open in 2026.
