The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced progress in the construction of Héroes del Chaco bridge over the Paraguay river connecting Asunción and Chaco’i in Paraguay.
The lifting of the beams on side B of the Costanera Norte for the future access viaduct was completed. While the shot vossoirs that will serve as the base for the 90-m piers are being prepared on both sides, the work has started on assembling the advance vehicle for the building of the cable-stayed bridge. This new road infrastructure will be 7 km long and will link Asunción with the Falcón-Remanso route, in the Western Region.
The project constitutes a strategic connectivity point for the movement of passengers and cargo transport throughout the region and the strengthening of integration, especially with Argentina.
A consortium comprising CDD Construcciones SA and Constructora Heisecke SA is responsible for the execution of the project.
