The consortium led by Sacyr concessions has started the operations of the Chacalluta Airport located in the city of Arica, in northern Chile on April 25, 2019. The consortium includes Sacyr concessions and AGUNSA and it has taken control of the air terminal for a period of 15 years. The works will begin in the second half of the 2020.

The project, whose estimated investment is about EUR 73 million (US$ 81 million), consists of the expansion and improvement of the current air terminal, from 5,352 m2 to 11,592 m2. With this it is expected that the site can serve approximately 1,145,000 passengers per year.

The works, which will begin in the second half of 2020, consider the installation of five new boarding bridges, which will replace the two existing bridges, in addition to increasing the number of aircraft parking spaces from four to seven, along with the expansion of vehicular roads outside and pedestrian to the interior of the airport, in order to facilitate travel in the enclosure.
