The concessionaire Nueva Via al Mar - CoviMar, the SPV responsible for the Mulaló to Loboguerrero Highway concession in Colombia, has requested to withdraw from the contract due to project uncertainty. The project team had been waiting for an environmental license for more than 2 years, without which construction work could not begin.
However, the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) is in discussions with the project owners to continue the work as the environmental license is currently been issued. Awarded as part of 4G highway concessions, the Mulaló-Loboguerrero road project is a 31.8 kilometers long highway. The road starts at Mulaló in the municipality of Yumbo and passes through Pavas in La Cumbre, ending in Loboguerrero in the municipality of Dagua.
The National Government of Colombia, through the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), has reactivated the construction works of the PPP road project, Malla Vial del Meta.
