The Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión) of Peru has announced the completion of the dredging works at the Salaverry Port Terminal.

The concessionaire company Salaverry Terminal Internacional has completed the first dredging, reaching an average depth of 12.5m. This exceeds the requirement of 10.5m established in the concession contract. Owned by conglomerate Grupo Romero, the concessionaire invested US$10 million in the dredging works.

The works were carried out in line with the fulfillment of the socio-environmental commitments required by the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coastguards (DICAPI) and the General Directorate of Socio-Environmental Affairs (DGASA), as well as without interruption to the scheduled ships in the period of the works.
