National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) in Colombia has successfully signed and formalized the transfer of the Santana-Mocoa-Neiva project to the Ruta al Sur SAS concessionaire. The Ruta al Sur SAS consortium consists of companies Rodovias Colombia SAS (70%) and MC Victorias Tempranas SAS (30%). Under this position, the new concessionaire is in charge of the payment of debts to the creditors of the project within a period of six months and the activation of the new works plan in accordance with the technical specifications initially agreed upon.
The works for this 456 km long highway will be carried out in seven sections as following :
The first (UF1) section between Neiva and Campoalegre involves construction of 21.9 km of second carriageway and the rehabilitation of the existing road (21.9 km)
The second (UF2) 65 km long section between Campoalegre and Gigante includes the rehabilitation of the existing road and the construction of new variants.
The third section (UF3), between Gigante and Garzón includes rehabilitation of 35.6 km of the existing road and the construction of a variant in Gigante.
The fourth section (UF4) runs through Garzón, Pitalito and San Agustín along a 109.2 km corridor that provides for the rehabilitation of this road and the construction of a bypass in Timaná and a third lane between Pitalito and La Jagua.
The fifth section (UF5) between Pitalito and San Juan de Villalobos will see the rehabilitation of 60.7 km of existing road will be carried out.
The sixth section (UF6) between San Juan de Villalobos and Mocoa (UF6) involves rehabilitation of 61.3 km of existing road and the construction of a variant in Mocoa.
The seventh section (UF7) includes rehabilitation between Villagarzón south and Puerto Caicedo north, between Puerto Caicedo and Santana, and between Santana and Puerto Asís.
