Municipality of Nova Serrana in Minas Gerias, Brazil has signed the smart city concession with Quantum Engenharia Ltda. The project involves the renovation of the entire street lighting network, telecommunications network for public buildings, video surveillance and WiFi points.

Quantum Engenharia will be responsible for the finance, installation, operation and maintenance of the project. The scope of work includes the replacement of 15,200 lighting points with LED, supply of 130 kilometers of optical fiber network, installation of 200 monitoring cameras with a Command and Control Center and provision of 40 Wi-Fi points in buildings and public spaces.

The contract value is BRL66 million (US$14.14 million) with a concession period of 25 years. The concessionaire will deliver the modernization plan within 60 days for approval. If approved, it will be executed within 12 months.
