Concession agreements signed for USD598 million Expressway project in Philippines

San Miguel Holdings Corporation (SMHC) and the Pangasinan provincial government signed joint venture and tollway concession agreements for the Pangasinan Link Expressway project phase one costing PHP34 billion (USD598 million) in the Philippines.

The 42.76 km expressway project is set to connect the province's eastern and western regions. Upon completion within the targeted four-year construction period, the first phase of this expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time from the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway exit in Binalonan town to Lingayen, cutting the journey from 90 minutes to just half an hour or even less. This initial phase encompasses 6.9 km from Binalonan to Manaoag, 11.30 km from Manaoag to Calasiao, and 22.17 km from Calasiao to Lingayen, including a 2.39 km spur road in Calasiao.

Guico and Ang also inked a tollway concession agreement, entitling the province to a 5% share in toll revenue and commercial development revenues from the beginning of the concession period.
