Zou Yuhui, chairman of Yunnan Air Investment Cambodia Airport Management (YACA) has advised Tekreth Samrach, secretary of state at Cambodia’s Council of Ministers the completion schedule of New Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport.
The New Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport, which is being built in the north of Cambodia and spans 700 ha, will be completed by contractors by June 2023. The airport will officially open in October 2023, and it will replace the existing Siem Reap airport. The project is being constructed in three phases, with the first phase costing US$380 million and having the capacity to accommodate up to 7 million passengers annually.
The airport is located about 40 km from the Angkor Wat temple, and according to the latest update, the project is currently 92% complete. Flight validation is set to begin in the middle of next month, indicating that the construction progress is on track.
