The city of Helsinki has launched an international competition looking for a partner to develop and implement the Makasiiniranta area in Helsinki, Finland. The competition is a two-phase quality and concept competition and it’s intended for operators in the construction and real estate industry or consortia formed by those. Located at South Harbour, the area is part of the Helsinki National Landscape and is valuable as it forms part of the maritime façade of Helsinki’s historic centre.
The project is focused on the development of the area as part of the expanding pedestrian city centre and the seaside trail around the shores of Helsinki for residents and tourists, as well as a location for the new Architecture and Design Museum. A key goal is to produce an overall land use plan that implements the City’s objectives in terms of land use, urban space and other aspects and serves as a basis for the future development, detailed planning and implementation of the area.
The webinar regarding the project will be held on May 27 at 2 pm EEST (UTC+3). The deadline to submit applications for the competition is June 21, 2021. More information about this opportunity can be found here.
