ACWA Power along with its partners Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) and AlBawani Water & Power Company (AWP), has officially inaugurated Jubail 3A independent water desalination plant (Jazlah Water Desalination Company) in Saudi Arabia.
The Jazlah company project, valued at US$650 Million, integrates photovoltaic (PV) solar power to achieve an impressive efficiency of 2.8 kWh/m3 of water using Arabian Gulf Seawater. This Independent Water Project (IWP) in the eastern region, is capable of producing 600,000 m3 of desalinated water per day. Jazlah features a 45.5 MW solar PV power generation facility, contributing 20% to the plant's energy consumption.
The delivery of the Jazlah company project was achieved through a development consortium consisting of ACWA Power (40.2%), Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) (40%), and AlBawani Water & Power Company (AWP) (19.8%). The execution of the project was carried out by the EPC consortium comprised of Power China, Sepco III, Lantania, and Abengoa.
Webuild has announced that its consortium signed a contract worth EUR1.4 billion (US$1.5 billion) to design and build 57 km of a high-speed railway in NEOM, along the north Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia.
