The District government along with Plenary Infrastructure DC (PIDC) has reached commercial close for the Smart Street Lighting PPP project in Washington DC, the USA.
The streetlight modernization efforts include converting more than 75,000 streetlights to LED technology which will reduce the current streetlight energy consumption. Plenary Infrastructure DC (PIDC) is the selected vendor for the project and will provide the financing for the capital improvements. PIDC will also extend the reach of DC-NET free public Wi-Fi in areas of need, install remote dimming nodes, and complete state of good repair work on the streetlight structural elements.
