The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) have awarded the contract for the Zayed City Schools PPP project in Abu Dhabi to a consortium led by BESIX and Plenary Group.
The Zayed City Schools project is now in commercial close and includes the design, build, finance, maintenance and transfer of three new school campuses with a capacity of 5,360 students. The campuses have been designed to meet Estidama sustainability requirements, as well as Covid-19 safety protocols.
The transaction is expected to reach a financial close in July 2022. The first term start date for all three campuses is scheduled for September 2024.
