The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) in Colombia has published project specifications for the Canal del Dique restoration concession.
The concession involves the rejuvenation of a 115 km long waterway canal, which connects the municipality of Calamar and the bay of Cartagena. The project aims to restore degraded ecosystems in nearby areas and reduce the flooding risk for the protection of riverside communities.
The estimated investment value of the project is COP3.10 trillion (US$771.16 million) including operating costs. The project will improve navigability throughout the length of the canal. The concession period for the project is 15 years.
