The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has signed an Interinstitutional Collaboration Agreement with the Municipality Provincial of Puno to execute preliminary studies in the development of the Puno Cable Car project in Peru.
The project, known as the "Creation of Public Tourist Services in tourist areas accessible by Cable Car and Cultural Recreation Space in the City of Puno," aims to foster development opportunities in Puno. Its objectives include the promotion of both domestic and international tourism and the establishment of a sustainable public transportation system.
PROINVERSIÓN's technical team conducted a site visit to assess potential locations for the infrastructure that will form part of the Cable Car project. This visit encompassed key sites, starting with Cerro Asoguini (the highest point), followed by Huajsapata or Mirador del Inca, and concluding at Kuntur Wasi, also recognized as the condor viewpoint.
PROINVERSIÓN has extended its support by offering technical assistance to identify and encourage new investment projects, employing both public-private partnerships and Works modalities. Notably, the project has garnered an "Expression of Interest" from MINSUR SA, indicating their willingness to participate in the financing and execution of the project under the Works for Taxes modality.
