The city of Surrey has put the sports arena project on hold in British Columbia, Canada.
The city of Surrey reviewed several "thorough and significant" proposals, but none aligned with their expectations. The city council aimed for a project in which the developer would finance the construction. In contrast, the city would provide the land and facilitate the relocation of the North Surrey Arena. However, none of the proposals were willing to assume this level of risk. As a result, the decision was made to reconstruct the North Surrey Arena on city-owned land located at 12780 110th Ave., just west of the Scott Road SkyTrain Station.
