The city of North Port, Florida in the USA has recently approved the ordinance for providing a policy for the utilization of public-private partnerships (P3) in procurement.
The ordinance will help the city of North Port to encourage private investments in the city infrastructure, facilitate private funding for the public infrastructure and provide flexibility in contracting PPP concessions. It will also help to promote efficient and effective use of PPP in project completion and adopt uniform procedures to be used by public and private entities for the procurement of such projects. The PPP procurement has shown the city that it improves the schedule for project delivery, lowers project costs, and provides other benefits to the public.
