The Regiotram de Occident train line in Bogotá, Colombia was awarded this Monday to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) consortium.
At the conclusion of the bidding procedure, the Chinese company made an economic offer worth COP3.6 trillion (US$ 1.05 billion).
The project will be entirely electric and aims to connect the municipalities of Facatativa, Cundinamarca, with Bogotá and will serve around 150,000 passengers with the journey taking 45 minutes. The works will include the construction of 39.6 km of railway and 17 stations.
