A consortium led by China Railway Construction Co., Ltd. has been awarded a PPP contract to develop the Meixian-Taibai highway in Shaanxi Province, north-west China.
With an estimated investment of about CNY12.3 billion (US$1.82 billion), the project will have a concession period of 33 years and 11 months including four years of construction.
The developers will be compensated through user payments, indicating that the highway will be tolled.
