The Ministry of Public Works in Chile is set to commence the construction of the Puente Industrial Bridge by the first week of December 2019. The bridge will connect the communes of Hualpén and San Pedro de la Paz. The 2.5 km viaduct component will pass over the River Biobium.

The Puente Industrial Bridge aims to decongest Route 160 and prevent the heavy load of trucks to pass through San Pedro de la Paz.

The US$160 million project will be implemented under the public-private partnership scheme (PPP) with 40 years concession period.
