The Government of Chile and the Ministry of Public Works have led the inauguration ceremony of the new Américo Vespucio Oriente Highway El Salto-Príncipe de Gales (AVO I) Sections in Santiago, Chile.
The highway will provide northeastern Santiago with a 9-km route that covers the districts of Recoleta, Huechuraba, Vitacura, Las Condes and La Reina. The project will benefit approximately 750,000 inhabitants and will decongest a highly saturated area of the city, reducing travel times on the El Salto-Prince of Wales from 40 to 10 minutes at peak times.
Following this inauguration, the Ministry of Public Works will proceed with 45 projects on the Vespucio Sur Highway, corresponding to 98 environmental commitments, which include improvement of the walkway environment, noise barriers and road safety.
