The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) of Paraguay has announced that Chaco resumes traffic with permission for the first section of route PY05 in Paraguay.

The first section of the PY05 route connects the city of Poso Colorado with Concepción. The 49 km section of Lot 1 has been fully rehabilitated and is at the disposal of users from km 269.8 to km 318.9 on the Pozo Colorado side of the Chaco. This section is being developed by the Rutas del Norte consortium of Rovella Carranza Suc. Py and Concrete Mix. The PY05 route development covers 146.42 km divided into three sections, two of which are still underway and will be completed between March and April 2023. The second section is completed by 65%, and the 3rd - by 75%. PY05 is a strategic transportation route for national products.

The construction of the section from km 372.2 to km 416.2 (Concepción roundabout) is the responsibility of Constructora Sánchez Tripoloni LTDA, the third and last section is being built by the Nuevo Chaco consortium, consisting of B&B SA and Eurofinsa SA.
