The Concesionaria Férrea de Occidente (CFRO) has announced the presentation of environmental impact study (EIA) findings for the Regiotram de Occidente project. The study will be carried out between July 21 and July 30, 2021.
The Terms of Reference (ToR)for the Elaboration of Environmental Studies (EIA) for Railway Lines - TDR-03 of 2017, issued by the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA), serves as the basis for this study. This ToR is a significant management tool for the identification, prevention, control, and mitigation of environmental and social aspects related to the project in its development and operation stages.
This project involves the development of a public rail passenger transportation system that will connect Bogotá with municipalities that make up the Sabana de Occidente region such as Funza, Mosquera, Madrid, and Facatativá in the department of Cundinamarca. The project features 39.6 km of railway, of which 14.7 will be located in the urban area of Bogotá and will include the construction of 17 stations (8 in the municipalities of Sabana Occidente).
