CCECC signs contract for Regiotram de Occidente

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) consortium has signed a contract for the Regiotram de Occident train line in Bogotá, Colombia.

CCECC will be responsible for the design, financing, building, operation and maintenance of a public rail system. The project will be entirely electric and aims to connect the municipalities of Facatativa, Cundinamarca, with Bogotá and will serve around 150,000 passengers with the journey taking 45 minutes. The works will include the construction of 39.6 km of railway and 17 stations.
