CCCC - Makyol consortium sole bidder for multimillion motorway PPP project in Romania

The National Commission for Strategy and Prognosis (CNSP) of the Government of Romania has received the sole bid of Chinese - Turkish consortium, CCCC - Makyol, after other four bidders opted to back out from participating in the tender for the development of Ploiesti-Comarnic-Braşov motorway project. 

The EUR1.36 billion (US$1.6 billion) project will be implemented under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) for 24-year concession term. Development works include the construction, financing, and operation of a roughly 120km section of the planned A3 motorway, which will link Romania's capital Bucharest to the Transylvania and north-west regions of the country.

The project which will be the first PPP project in Romania includes 14 viaducts and 33 bridges with a total length of approximately 3km, and a 2.6km tunnel.
