The Caxxor group is seeking investment to develop a Transcontinental rail corridor from Mazatlán, Mexico, to Winnipeg, Canada. The rail corridor will connect the Mexican states of Sinaloa, Durango, and Monterrey and the U.S. cities of Laredo, Dallas, Tulsa and Chicago, and Winnipeg, Canada.
The group is targeting to raise US$ 3.3 billion, which will be used to construct a new port and shipyard in Mazatlán; industrial parks in Mexico; an export logistics center in Winnipeg; and 87 kilometers of railway tracks in the region of Sinaloa. The new tracks will be integrated into the existing rail network of Mexico, which will provide connectivity to the USA and Canada.
This United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) corridor will be developed with funds raised from private firms. The project is expected to start in 2021.
