Carlyle Group has announced that funds managed by its platform have committed up to US$1 billion in investment to partner with Tillman Global Holdings in Tillman Infrastructure. Tillman Infrastructure is a developer and owner of telecommunication tower infrastructure in the United States.
Founded in 2016, Tillman Infrastructure has a portfolio of nearly 1,000 cell towers with over 1,250 more sites under various stages of development. The investment will help accelerate growth to meet the demand for mobile internet infrastructure as well as enable Tillman Infrastructure to invest in mobile infrastructure to serve underlying mobile network operators.
Carlyle was advised by Greenberg Traurig LLP while Sullivan & Cromwell and TAP Advisors acted as advisors to Tillman Global.
