The provincial government of Saskatchewan, located in south-central Canada, has announced that it has initiated the divestment of the Global Transportation Hub (GTH), an inland port spanning 1,700 acres near the city of Regina.
The GTH’s board of directors are in the process of hiring a third party consultant to lead that transition and define a new governance structure for the GTH.
Businesses currently operating at the port include Canadian Pacific Rail, Loblaw Companies Ltd, Canada's largest food retailer, and SaskPower, the principal electric utility in the province.
