Caitan S.p.A., a 50-50 joint venture between Mitsui & Co and Técnicas de Desalinazación de Aguas, S.A. (Tedagua), a subsidiary of Spanish conglomerate Grupo ACS, has entered into an agreement to develop the project with Minera Spence, a wholly owned subsidiary of BHP, who will use the fresh water produced by the desalination plant
