Budget approved for Hotel-Convention Center project Bayland Island

Baytown Hospitality Public Facilities Corporation in the USA has approved US$ 63.6 million budget for Hotel-Convention Center in Bayland Island, Baytown. The hotel will have 208 rooms and the convention center will be developed in an area of 34,000 sq ft.

Out of US$ 63.6 million, the authority will provide US$ 21.1 million and a private partner will invest US$ 42.5 million for the project. The city authorities will issue bonds for US$ 17.1 million and draw US$ 4 million from the city’s Hotel Occupancy Tax fund to pay for the convention center.

The construction for the project will take 18 months.
