The Buckinghamshire County Council has launched a tender for business and management consultancy that seeks to support and address transport issues within Buckinghamshire.
Buckinghamshire is an area of increased housing growth with an identified 45 000 new homes required to be delivered across the County by 2023 as identified in Buckinghamshire’s 5 Local Plans. In addition, there are significant national highway infrastructure projects that affect the Council such as: High Speed 2, East West Rail, Western Rail Access to Heathrow and Oxford to Cambridge Express Way and growth arc.
The highways development management team is consulted on over 3 000 applications each year from the five local planning authorities in Buckinghamshire and have a national target to respond to 72 % of all planning applications within 21 days. The team also input into strategic plans such as local plans. Therefore, in order to fulfill these obligations, there is a necessity for specialist highways development support in times of increasing application demand and specialist support for more complicated developments, MDAs, major infrastructure projects and provide expert witness support at inquiries.
The deadline for the submission of documents is on October 21, 2019.
