Bancolombia and CAF-AM Ashmore have approved bridge loan of COP 230,000 billion (US$ 61.58 billion) for the works of Cambao-Manizales project, a 255.8km-long project that will connect the districts of Cundinamarca, Tolima, and Caldas. After the approval of loan the authority will advance in the execution of the works and interventions that are going to bring development and well-being to the region.

Once the agreement was endorsed, the project obtained the environmental permit that allows the execution of the works in functional units 4 and 5, which contemplate the construction of approximately 50 km of track. These functional units will connect the municipalities of Murillo, in Tolima, with Manizales, in the department of Caldas. The project will generate an alternative to the passage of the Line, as well as an access connection with the Bogotá - Honda - Mariquita - Fresno - Manizales corridor.
