Brazilian state Tocantins to develop 8 sections of highways using PPP model

The government of Tocantins in Brazil has announced plans to develop eight sections of highways in the state on private investment. The total length of the highways will approximately be 640.40 kilometers. Following is the list of highways proposed :

  • TO-050, Palmas / Porto Nacional - 58.70 km stretch;
  • TO-010, TO-445 and TO-342, Palmas / Miracema do Tocantins / Miranorte - 108.00 km section;
  • TO-030, Palmas / Taquaruçu / Santa Tereza - 67.00 Km;
  • TO-080, Palmas / Paraíso do Tocantins - 74.70 Km;
  • Highways TO-455 junction TO-255 junction TO-080 - 71.00 km section;
  • TO-355, Colinas do Tocantins junction TO-010 - 60.00 km stretch;
  • TO-222 Araguaína / Filadélfia - 107.00 km stretch;
  • TO-500 highway crossing the Bananal Island - 94.00 km section.

The schedule for the concession process is not decided yet. The winning companies will be responsible for the maintenance, conservation, monitoring and implementation of infrastructure works and other improvements.
