Brazilian government to vote on privatization of Eletrobras

The Federal government of Brazil is planning to conduct a congress voting for the privatization of a state-run power company Eletrobras. The privatization will depend on establishing prior contracts for a natural gas-powered generation with the government.

The government is expecting to generate BRL25 billion (US$4.7 billion) in revenues from this transaction.
