The state government of Pernambuco and National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has signed an agreement to carry out studies aimed at evaluating the viability for a concession of four roads. These road stretches will cover 272 km and will connect 30 municipalities in Pernambuco. The estimated investment for the project is BRL 850 million (US$ 162.70 million). The auction for the project is planned to be completed before 2022.

BNDES will define the scope of the studies, hire the consultants, probably via bidding, coordinate and supervise the work. The study includes the following highway projects :

  • PE - 045 - connects Escada to Vitória de Santo Antão
  • PE - 050 - links Limoeiro to Vitória de Santo Antão
  • PE - 060 - connects Cabo de Santo Agostinho to the South Coast
  • PE - 090 - connects Carpina to Toritama
